Is the Teacher-Centered Approach Out of Date and No Longer Effective?
A teacher-centered approach where the teachers become the sources of the knowledge is frequently regarded as a poor teaching method. In this modern era, students are encouraged to be more active than teachers so that their potential can develop better, and the method is deemed ineffective and will impede student development. Therefore, the teacher-centered approach has begun to be forgotten by many people. Nonetheless, because of the limited facilities and learning resources in rural areas, this method is considered beneficial for teachers in rural areas. For a little fact, people usually avoid teaching in rural areas due to a lack of facilities. But, it doesn't mean that we should give up on them so easily. There are still so many ways that we can do to conduct a good teaching and learning situation in rural areas. So, teaching duty in rural areas is not something that should be avoided because everyone has the right to get an education and teaching is a noble and fun thing if we are sincere in carrying it out even though it is hampered by facilities and learning resources.
